Jing Boran to replace Kai Ko in "Monster Hunt"

Jing Boran to replace Kai Ko in "Monster Hunt"

4 Feb – Rumours are rife that Chinese actor Jing Boran has been selected as the replacement for Kai Ko in the upcoming film, "Monster Hunt".

Last year, Ko's drug scandal and the subsequent boycott of troubled stars by China's State Administration of Press, Radio, Film, and Television have forced several production studios working with the Taiwanese actor to make changes to their films.

While "Tiny Times 4" producers decided not to replace Kai Ko with another actor, rumours of Jing Boran as the "Monster Hunt" replacement was sparked after a Weibo post made by Ko himself.

On 2 February, the Taiwanese actor wrote, "Though it was temporary, it is hard to say goodbye to "Monster Hunt". Farewell buddy. Take good care of him for me plz..."

The actor then tagged Jing Boran and Bai Baihe to the post, to which Jing then responded, "I'll take good care of him."

When asked to clarify the rumours, the film company confirmed Kai Ko's withdrawal, saying, "It was a hard decision, but it is for the best."

As to rumours of Jing as the replacement, the representative only stated that they both have similar built and stature, which will make it easy for the production to continue its progress.

"Kai Ko's performance was excellent and we hope that there is an opportunity for fans to see his version in the future," said the representative.
