JLL's Karamjit Singh to leave role as residential head

Property veteran Karamjit Singh will be leaving his position as head of JLL’s Singapore residential business to pursue his own entrepreneurial interests.
Singh, who has led the business since 2012, will continue to advise JLL and its clients on major residential capital market transactions in his new role as Senior Consultant with effect from January 2017.
“I’d like to thank Karamjit for his great leadership over the last four years, building market leading businesses in residential land and building sales, residential leasing, and for establishing JLL’s successful partnership with PropNex,” said Chris Fossick, Managing Director, Singapore and Southeast Asia at JLL.
Singh joined JLL four years ago when it acquired his company Credo Real Estate, which handled residential land and collective sales, including the $1.338 billion Farrer Court sale in 2007, the largest collective sale in Singapore’s history.
Under his leadership, JLL secured several headline-grabbing deals, including the collective sales of Shunfu Ville ($638 million), Thong Sia Building ($380 million) and Raintree Gardens ($334 million).
Said Singh: “With the residential sales and leasing businesses firmly established, I feel comfortable to hand over the reins.”
Following Singh’s move, Tan Hong Boon, Regional Director at JLL and Yong Choon Fah, National Director, JLL Singapore Capital Markets, will take on the day-to-day running of the residential business.
They each have close to 30 years’ consultancy, investment sales and collective sales experience, and previously held management roles at Credo Real Estate.
