Joel Chan and Selena Lee nominated TV King and Queen
16 Dec – "Barrack O'Karma" stars Joel Chan and Selena Lee have been nominated Best Actor and Actress for the first time ever at the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards.
As reported on Mingpao, the two stars, who spoke about their nominations following the announcement made by TVB, shared that they are excited over the news, especially since both of them are also nominated in the Most Popular Male and Female Characters" and "Most Popular Onscreen Partners".
"I have been in the industry for 26 years and with TVB for 19 years. To be nominated Best Actor for the first time, I am very happy. Before coming here today, my wife told me that I will always be the best actor in her mind and told me to continue my efforts," he enthused.
Asked who his biggest opponent is, Joel named Benjamin Yuen, who was nominated for his role in "The Defected". However, the actor added that he is more confident about winning Most Popular TV Male Character than the said coveted category.
On the other hand, Selena, who has never won any award from TVB, stated that she is just honoured to be nominated among other contenders.
"I hope that "Barrack O'Karma" will win Best Drama," she added.
The TVB Anniversary Awards will be held on 12 January 2020.
