Johor allocates RM19.6mil for free bus service

MUAR: The Johor government has allocated RM19.6 million to expand the Bas Muafakat Johor free bus services to a total of 46 routes this year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said there were now 80 buses under the Bas Muafakat Johor initiative which provides services to the people to help them cope with the rising cost of living.

“The state government via the local authorities will continue to expand the services as planned in the state’s Budget 2017,” he said at the launch of the Bas Muafakat Johor initiative at Uptown Maharani.

After the launch, Khaled went on a bus tour together with state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani, Muar District Officer Noorazam Datuk Osman, Muar Municipal Council president Jamaluddin Abdul Hamid and various department heads.
