Johor Sultan becomes KTMB train driver for a day on JB-KL route

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, is driving a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) train from here to Kuala Lumpur.

The ruler departed from the Johor Baru Sentral (JB Sentral) station at 9.27am and is expected to make a stop at the Kluang and Segamat stations, before arriving in Kuala Lumpur.

The train, with the registration number 1002, departed from Platform 4 with members of the royal family and KTMB staff.

Also boarding the train at JB Sentral to accompany Sultan Ibrahim are state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani; Johor Baru mayor A. Rahim Nin and Johor Baru District Officer Muhamad Fuad Radzuan.

Sultan Ibrahim procured a Class 26 licence to drive a train on June 28, 2010.
