GENERAL SANTOS CITY - The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) and The Fraternal Order of Eagles, a nationwide socio-civic fraternal organization based here, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) over the weekend where they will put their act together to undertake humanitarian missions during calamities in the country.

PNRC chairman Dick Gordon and Salvador Ramos, national president of Fraternal Order of Eagles, signed the MOU during the culmination of the national Eagles Week celebration and the organization's 33rd founding anniversary over the weekend.

Following the signing of the agreement, Gordon said the PNRC will tap the more than 100 Eagles Club chapters nationwide during the conduct of relief and rescue operations by the PNRC personnel during calamities.

''The PNRC and the Fraternal Order of Eagles shared the same vision and mission which is anchored on humanitarian service and brotherhood,'' Gordon said shortly after the MoU signing.

For his part, Ramos said members of various Eagles Clubs nationwide will be tapped to help PNRC volunteers if calamities and disasters occur in their respective localities.

He said the collaboration between the PNRC and Fraternal Order of Eagles was designed to effectively undertake humanitarian missions in areas affected by calamities and disasters where there is a presence of Eagles Clubs.

Gordon, who served as honored guest during the culmination program, urged the members of different Eagles Club to get involved actively in the humanitarian missions during disasters and calamities.
