Jollibee has yet again won over the internet after it was revealed that the popular Filipino fast food chain has begun rolling out accessibility features such as braille and large texts on their menus for the blind and visually impaired.
Members of the visually impaired community and content creators announced Jollibee’s new inclusivity initiatives on social media.
“A big thanks to Jollibee for being the first in the industry to offer [a] braille menu and large print menu for the blind and visually impaired person,” Melissa Pecson, a parent of Mykee, a visually impaired child, wrote online.
“With the Jollibee braille menu, Mykee can choose food she prefers and order independently. She [feels] that she belongs,” Melissa added.
Content creator Brian Ganada also shared the news online, where he posted photos of members of the visually impaired community using Jollibee’s braille menu that was warmly received by the public.
“As someone who knows ASL/FSL (Filipino Sign Language) and Braille, this has me in tears. A step forward towards inclusion,” one wrote.
“I wish other fast food chains would follow suit,” another said.
