Josephine Siao welcomes grandson

11 Jul – Veteran Hong Kong film star, Josephine Siao, recently became a grandmother.

Wenweipo reported that the 66-year-old actress recently shared the good news that her eldest daughter Chang Hoi Kam had gave birth in May to a healthy baby boy.

"His name is Ian Denver. But his Chinese name is Chang Yat Chi."

The actress added that her Sino-American grandson weighed at 8 pounds 3 ounces at birth and that being a grandmother is both exciting and heart-warming, but she is nervous as well, seeing that it has been so many years since she was a grandmother.

She also enthused about her Irish-American Chinese grandson, calling him a trendy baby and said, "His father is a foreigner, so when he was born, his hair had brown highlights. He is Caucasian when asleep and Chinese when awake!"

Josephine's daughter, Chang Hoi Kam, married her Irish-American husband in March last year and Josephine gave him a Chinese name, Tang Wai Lim. However, upon applying for a Hong Kong identification card, he changed his name to Chang Wai Lim instead, to pay respect to his in-laws' family name.

To this, Josephine enthused, "My husband (Chang Ching Fu) is happy about it, knowing that his grandson shares his surname!"
