Josh Hall Says He ‘Will Not Publicly Badmouth Anyone’ as He Breaks Silence on Christina Hall Divorce
"This is our life and I am not here to entertain people," Josh said of his recent divorce in a message on Instagram on Aug. 2
Christina Hall’s estranged husband Josh Hall is speaking out about their divorce on social media for the first time.
Josh, 43, said he “will not publicly badmouth” anyone as he addressed his recent divorce from the Christina on the Coast star in a message posted on Instagram on Friday, Aug. 2.
“I prefer privacy, especially during something as life-changing as a divorce I did not ask for,” Josh wrote in the caption while sharing a photo of him resting his head on his pet dog, Stella, indoors.
“I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately, the internet is forever,” he continued. “We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time.”
"Those who know each of us, know who we are," his message concluded.

Josh filed for divorce from Christina, 41, in July after almost three years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" as he also requested spousal support, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE on July 16. Christina responded with her own filing on July 24, requesting neither party receive spousal support and detailing all the properties in which Josh also has ownership and the ones she owns solely.
This includes a $12 million Newport Beach home the former couple purchased in 2022, Christina's Tennessee farmhouse, which serves as the setting for her HGTV spinoff Christina in the Country and a condo in downtown Nashville. The document also lists any unnamed properties acquired by Christina after her separation from Josh or before their marriage, as solely hers.
Included in the filing is a list of "community" property or shared assets that the former couple own together.
Both lists feature the Newport Beach home and a portion of an undeveloped lot in Thompson Station, Tenn. which indicates that Josh has some stake in the two properties.
In addition to her response, Christina also filed an ex parte motion in which also alleged that her estranged husband had made some shady financial moves relating to properties she owns in in Tennessee, which are rented when she is not using them, with the ins and outs of the renting handled by a property manager.
Christina alleges that on the day after she told Josh she planned to file for divorce, June 7, he contacted the property manager for them to change the bank account that received the rental properties' rent payments to his personal account. She included a screenshot of a text conversation, allegedly between the property manager and her estranged husband, in the filing.
"For the month of June, Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate rental income to his account," her filing alleged.
At the time, a source close to Josh claimed to PEOPLE that, "Josh requested the property manager's payment because he handled all of the bills for their rental properties."
While deeds obtained by PEOPLE indicate Christina and her personal trust are the buyers of both of the properties referred to in the filing, the source also claimed that Josh is a co-owner of them. Christina's filing claims both "are entirely my sole and separate property."
Josh's first post talking about his divorce comes after his ex hit back at him after he shared a photo on July 31 of a sculpture spelling out the word “hope” on his Instagram Stories, along with a prayer hands emoji and a blue heart.
Christina reshared the post on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Aug. 1, writing alongside it, “I ‘HOPE’ she pays me millions more than what she’s already offered me.” She added the same prayer hands emoji and a money emoji, seemingly referring to the ongoing financial issues in their divorce.

Following Christina’s response, a source close to Josh told PEOPLE on Friday, Aug, 2, that he did not intend for his post to be about their divorce.
The photo instead was taken at City of Hope, a cancer treatment facility, where Josh visited a "sick best friend, who is a cop with a terminal illness."
"This post had nothing to do with Christina," the insider added.

A source close to Christina told PEOPLE on Friday that the HGTV star "had no idea that [Josh] was at City of Hope" and believed he was in Nashville at the time of her post. The majority of locations of the hospital are in Southern California, where the former couple are based.
Josh first broke his silence on social media when he posted a photo of himself going for a walk in the woods with a prayer hands emoji on his Instagram Stories on July 24.
