Julio Diaz explains reason for false death reports
26 Oct - It was all just a misunderstanding, said Julio Diaz, who was reported to have passed away recently due to heart attack.
As reported on InterAksyon, the "Ma Rosa" actor, who sent a text message to the media following the mistakes in previous reports, stated that he is still alive and well and that it was his younger half-brother who passed away recently.
The reason for the error seemed to be the fact that they share the same name – Mariano Regaliza.
Diaz revealed that he is nicknamed Marnie, while the family called the younger Mariano Regaliza Jun. Although Diaz himself was revealed to have suffered a brain aneurysm, the actor had since undergone a successful surgery.
The mistake was first spotted by journalist-filmmaker Arlyn dela Cruz, who asked for a news portal to verify the news since she had just met Diaz a week before.
