KLUANG: The RM86.28 million Kahang Dam in Kluang is expected to be fully completed in May.
National Water Services Commission (Span) chairman Datuk Liang Teck Meng told a press conference at the Simpang Rengam Water Treatment Plant today that the dam is currently 79.35 per cent complete.
“We are now opening the tender for piping works, Liang said.
He added that after the tender has been awarded, the dam is expected to be up and running within six months to a year.
“On a separate matter, complaints of ammonia pollution in Sungai Benut, Pontian, is expected to be solved once the landfill issue in Simpang Renggam is overcome.
“The landfill here will eventually be closed, but the water treatment plant (Simpang Renggam) will continue with its operations,” he said.
