Kardashian heist suspect freed for medical reasons

A key suspect in the robbery at gunpoint of US reality star Kim Kardashian in Paris last year has been released for medical reasons, his lawyers said Tuesday. Didier Dubreucq -- nicknamed "Blue Eyes" -- has been authorised to travel only for medical appointments, his lawyers Dominique Ousset and Victoria Anfuso, without disclosing the 62-year-old's condition. A career gangster who had already been convicted of robbery and drug trafficking, Dubreucq is suspected of being part of the five-man team that robbed Kardashian of a ring and other jewels worth millions in October 2016. Kardashian was staying in a luxury residence during Paris Fashion Week when she was held up by men who threatened her with a gun before tying her up, gagging her and locking her in a bathroom. The men made off in the middle of the night with a haul worth an estimated nine million euros ($10.6 million). Six people are being held in connection with the case.
