Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth, and Other Royals Wish Meghan Markle a Happy Birthday

From Town & Country

Today marks the Duchess of Sussex's 39th birthday. Though Meghan is still residing in Los Angeles, alongside Prince Harry and baby Archie, that didn't stop the rest of the royal family from sending their well wishes her way from across the pond.

Despite Meghan and Harry's recent decision to step back from their senior royal roles, nearly all of the working members of the British royal family took to Instagram to celebrate the Duchess's big day.

First, the @theroyalfamily account, which represents Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and the royal family as a whole, shared a photograph of Meghan and the Queen from a 2018 joint visit to Chester.

"Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!" read the caption.

Even though recent revelations from the upcoming book, Finding Freedom, revealed tense relations between Meghan and Harry and William and Kate, you couldn't tell from Instagram, where the Cambridges shared a sweet photo of Meghan smiling with a young girl.

"Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today!" the Cambridges said.

Finally, Meghan's in-laws, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also shared their own birthday wishes for the Duchess on the @clarencehouse account. The pair posted a stunning photograph of Meghan smiling alongside their birthday message.

Indeed, while Meghan is not with her extended royal family this year, this outpouring of love on social media seems to indicate that these ties are still strong. Hopefully the Duchess, like many people celebrating their birthdays during the coronavirus pandemic, enjoys a quiet celebration.
