Kate Middleton Smiles in New Picture Quietly Added to Her Instagram Page with Prince William
The Princess of Wales wore a blue polo in the previously unseen shot
Kate Middleton and Prince William are twinning in a new photo hidden within their royal social media feed.
As of Oct. 4, a close look at the Prince and Princess of Wales' shared Instagram shows that a new picture of the couple has been uploaded to a cover of their Instagram Stories Highlights. The image from their "August rewind," a social media recap that their team releases each month, is a previously unseen picture of Prince William and Princess Kate that looks like an outtake from their Paris Olympics video.
A zoom into the image showed the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 42, wearing blue polo shirts and standing outdoors. The setting seems to be the same from the cameo the couple made in an upbeat video released across their official channels on Aug. 11, in which they congratulated Team Great Britain on their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the video issued on the day of the closing ceremonies for the global games, Princess Kate wore a striped Breton top and Prince William sported a cornflower blue Adidas polo with a Team GB logo over Olympics rings. In the new picture of the royal couple in their "AUG" Instagram Stories Highlights, it looked like Princess Kate was wearing a navy version of the same shirt that her husband had on.
"From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB," Princess Kate said in the snippet shared on Aug. 11, which was posted once more within the Instagram Stories Highlights.
"Well done on all you've achieved, you've been an inspiration to us all," added Prince William, who caught viewers off guard by debuting a new beard — a new look he seems to be sticking to.
The video was even more memorable because it marked Princess Kate's third appearance at the time so far this year amid her cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales has remained outside of the limelight for almost the entirety of 2024 after announcing in March that she was undergoing chemotherapy. On Sept. 9, she announced that she completed chemotherapy in a video of her and Prince William with their kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, unprecedented for its intimacy of the family together.
"Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes," the Princess of Wales said in part in the video, which was filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk in August.
"I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can," she said.

On Oct. 2, she appeared at Windsor Castle to meet 16-year-old Liz Hatton, a budding young photographer who is navigating a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Prince William invited Liz to photograph the investiture ceremonies he conducted at the castle, and the Prince and Princess of Wales privately met with the teen and her family after.
The following day, William revealed during a meeting with British Olympic and Paralympic swimmers who competed at the Paris games that he didn't travel to the international sporting competition because he "didn't want to risk" contracting COVID during Kate's chemotherapy treatment.
"I was so keen to come, but I have to say after reading someone's interview about COVID I decided, because my wife was obviously having chemo, that I didn't want to risk bringing COVID home," Prince William said in part at the Birtley Community Pool, Hello! reported.
"But we watched the whole thing. We were glued to it every day," he said, apparently referring to his family of five.
