KATE NYE: I'm Kate Nye, and I have been weightlifting for about five years now. I have had, kind of, a whirlwind journey. It's been a crazy year this past year with the pandemic, but I've been very fortunate to train in my garage this entire time. That's the beauty of weightlifting, you can, kind of, do it anywhere. So I luckily haven't had a lot of hiccups in my training.

I am absolutely worried for Paris. And as athletes, me and Mattie get tested, probably, a lot more than most Olympic athletes. Because of, just, the nature of weightlifting, and the doping problem in weightlifting. And I'm totally OK with that, just because it's the price we pay for clean sport.

So if the IWF could catch up and hold the same standard for everyone around the world, it would be great for our sport. And we wouldn't be worried if we're going to still be in the Olympics next time or not. Despite being one of the most old sports in the Olympics, it would be a shame to see it go.
