Katrina Halili falls in love with "Mga Anak ng Kamote" story

6 Sep – Katrina Halili recently admitted that it was the unique story of "Mga Anak ng Kamote" that attracted her to the project.

As reported on Rappler, the actress who spoke about the movie at the press conference for the TOFARM Film Festival 2018, shared that while she had received several offers before, the said movie was the one that drew her in for its difference.

"It was a beautiful story and I have never done anything like it," she said.

In the fictional dystopian movie taking place in the year 2048, Halili plays a woman forced to leave the mountains in search of her husband who was held by the police for selling illegal sweet potatoes.

"My character is quite challenging because she struggles internally. It's easy to show anger by screaming and crying, but hers is within. She keeps things to herself and doesn't speak up," she said.

The upcoming film is set to premiere on 12 September.
