ALOR STAR: Kedah Education Committee chairman Datuk Tajul Urus Mat Zain has assured that action will be taken to improve the drainage system near SK Bukit Pinang, after the school was flooded for the third time in the past three weeks.
He said the relevant authority will prepare a report and provide suggestions to resolve the matter.
"I will refer this to the local government and DID (Drainage and Irrigation Department) and get the relevant authority to prepare a report and proposal to resolve the issue," he told The New Straits Times.

SK Bukit Pinang Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Amry Abdul Latip, upon hearing this, thanked Tajul for the pledge.
He said swift action was needed to address the issue because the school has been suffering significant losses over the past five years related to flash floods.
"Things got worst in the past three years following the emergence of new housing areas nearby. The drainage system in front of the school can no longer accommodate high volume of water.
Meanwhile, the school headmistress Badriah Minar said estimated losses could easily run into "tens of thousands of ringgit" as equipment, documents and furniture in the ground floor classrooms were all damaged.
"The damage from yesterday's flood was quite extensive. The water level was much higher than before.
"I have informed the Kota Setar District Education Office and lodged a police report on the matter." she said.
