Keppel Land and smart living platform developer Habitap on Tuesday (13 Nov) unveiled Singapore’s first smart home that is powered by artificial intelligence.

Equipped with machine learning capabilities, the smart home management system can anticipate users’ preferences and usage patterns, effectively automating features and settings. These range from providing users access to preferred third-party service providers for the maintenance of their air conditioners and laundry services to automatic reminders and alerts on security issues.

The system, known as Habitap Lifestyle Assistant or Habitap Handy, also enables users to interact with and control devices in their homes such as door locks, air conditioning and lighting systems.

It also allows them to access various services such as facilities booking and the visitor management system while enjoying lifestyle services using voice messaging or natural language text on mobile messaging applications like WhatsApp and WeChat.

“Following the success of the smart home management system which was first rolled out at Corals at Keppel Bay in 2016, we are pleased to extend our collaboration with Habitap on this new system which includes enhancements such as A.I. with machine learning capabilities,” said Ng Ooi Hooi, president (Singapore) at Keppel Land.

“This advanced home automation system will be applied at Keppel Land’s upcoming residential development at Nassim Hill, and we hope this will provide added convenience to homeowners and improve their quality of life.”
