Watch: Kerry Katona found challenge of Celebrity SAS therapeutic

Kerry Katona has said competing in gruelling survival show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins was like a form of therapy.

The 40-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer competed in the new series of the Channel 4 reality show alongside stars including Strictly Come Dancing pro Ore Aduba, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Olympic rower James Cracknell and TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson.

Katona told The Mirror: “Whether it was physical or when you are being spoken to or shouted at, for me, that was therapy. I think I got so much closure from doing that show for my own personal life.

The show sees the celebrities put through a gruelling military training regime, as well as being subjected to harsh interrogation to see if they have what it takes to be a Special Air Service army officer.

Katona said: “I have bipolar, my moods change with the weather, so when you are in an environment that is just so f***ing miserable, it’s really hard to get your mindset as, ‘Right let’s get up and put these wet clothes back on’.”
