KUALA LUMPUR: A khatam (completion of Al-Quran recital) ceremony and Selawat Perdana (congregational prayer) has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for the most number of Braille Al-Quran reciters.

The event involved the participation of more than 3,000 people, including 500 from the Malaysian Blind Muslim Association (Pertis).

An MBOR Senior Researcher handed a certificate to the programme's patron, Setiawangsa member of Parliament Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Zahari.

The Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, attended the event and joined the congregation in reciting the Holy book.
