Fine Wooden Bowls Limited Edition #6
Ends: March 9
A specialist in the creation of large wooden bowls -- no easy feat -- David Walsh returns for a sixth round of bowls, with another 90 to be made. Source woods include black cherry, red cedar, black walnut, redwood and manzanita burl.

Pelo Malo Art Exhibit
Ends: March 12
Is curly hair beautiful, or not? Jennifer Kaplan-Ortiz's exhibit, whose title means "bad hair," explores culturally embedded themes of beauty and race in Puerto Rico. A successful run should cement plans to tour the London exhibit in the US and Puerto Rico.

Sugar Metropolis
Ends: March 14
Already successful in Northern Ireland, two artists look to create a giant community structure in Harlem's Sugar Hill, in the Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling building. Visitors contribute to the sugar cube sculpture, helping to build it one tiny brick at a time.

'Loving Vincent' Film
Ends: March 15
A feature-length, oil-painted animation featuring 120 of Van Gogh's works, and with a plot drawn from over 800 letters of correspondance. Created by Hugh Welchman, producer of 2008 Oscar winner for Best Short Animation "Peter and the Wolf." Passing the Kickstarter goal enables BreakThru Films to pitch for full production funding.

Butch: Not like the other girls
Ends: March 18
Questioning masculine and feminine images, Sharia Holman's photographic exhibit was first shown as public art in Vancouver. This Kickstarter funds a coast to coast tour from Vancouver, BC to Easthampton, Massachusetts. "I'd love to see Butch travel -- to New York, to San Francisco, and to all the little towns in between," says Holman.

Mini Museum

Resin blocks inlaid with rare specimens from the earth and beyond: meteorite shavings, dinosaur bones and eggshell, mummy wrap, Corinthian leather; even coal from the Titanic. It's the Kickstarter art section's new most-funded project, with a funding total of $1m well within its grasp.
