Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly hired a security team trained in “stalkers and death threats” to protect their daughter.
The couple welcomed their first child North West into the world last month. Kim gave birth to the baby, who is known as Nori, several weeks early and the new parents are keen to protect her from prying eyes.
They have apparently arranged for a new group of bodyguards to join their team, with the men said to be Israeli military specialists.
“Kim and Kanye have been ultra-paranoid ever since Nori was born and have gone to every length to ensure she’s protected. Their security team are the best in the business; they’re trained in handling vast amounts of confidential information, so they are perfect for the Hollywood elite,” an insider told British magazine Heat. “Their strength lies in their ability to deal with situations such as stalkers and death threats.”
After leaving hospital, Kim, Kanye and Nori went to stay with her mother Kris Jenner. That had always been the plan and although the baby arrived early, Kanye had already arranged for panic buttons and security cameras to be installed there.
He is thought to have spent thousands of dollars on the upgrades, but the family have now moved to another property. This is said to be in part due to reality TV cameras which were at Kris’. Kanye does not like appearing on the family’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians show and seemingly felt they were intrusive.
Now they are at a secret location, but Kanye is still taking the protection of his daughter seriously. The publication claims he will only allow three guests at any given time and requires everyone, including family, to go through a rigorous process before they are allowed in.
"It may seem over the top, but anyone who visits them has to leave their phone with the security before they’re allowed inside – even family,” the source added.
“Everyone is cleared by security. Even [Kim’s siblings] Rob, Khloé and Lamar [Odom, Khloé’s husband] had to go through the full security scan when they visited. They were absolutely devastated – they felt they couldn’t be trusted to bring their phones into the nursery. Khloé said she felt it was over the top and told them they were acting ‘like crazy freaks’, but Kanye insisted he was doing what was ‘necessary to protect the baby.’”
As Nori was born weeks early the couple did not have a full team of nannies in place. Kanye has been careful about who he hires and only wants trained medical professionals on board.
“They don’t always get up for the night feeds,” another source explained. “Kim’s breastfeeding, but she’s pumping milk so she can sleep. When staff feed the baby during the night, Kanye will often get up to supervise them.”
The hip-hop star is also said to have hired a special chef to ensure everything his 32-year-old girlfriend eats will give her breast milk the right nutrients.
