KinKi Kids' Tsuyoshi Domoto joins Instagram on his birthday

After former SMAP member Takuya Kimura made his debut on Instagram last year, another Johnny’s — a term used to refer to the artists under the talent agency Johnny & Associates — has also opened an individual Instagram account on Saturday (10 April): KinKi Kids’ Tsuyoshi Domoto.

Domoto’s first series of posts with the same image were coupled with a caption that read, “Hi, I’m Johnny’s,” and hashtagged Endrecheri, a project produced by and starring himself. His Instagram account has since garnered more than 429,000 followers.

Apart from the static images, Domoto also uploaded an IGTV clip that shows him jamming away on an electric guitar with the caption “Endrecheri music”. As 10 April is also his birthday, many of his fans, even the ones from China and Taiwan, took the opportunity to pour in their well wishes and congratulatory messages.

In addition, Domoto shared his first Instagram story on Tuesday midnight (13 April, Japan time) with an image of his birthday cake.

If you find Domoto familiar, you may have seen him as Kindaichi in the Japanese live-action mystery drama The Kindaichi Case Files (1995-1996). Domoto has also been active as J-pop duo KinKi Kids, together with Koichi Domoto. How time flies; that teenager is now 42 years old!
