PUTRAJAYA: King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today witnessed the signing of four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and an agreement on air services.
The MoUs signed between Malaysia and Bahrain governments included defence cooperation as well as on small and medium enterprises (SME) and industrial cooperation.
Another MoU was inked on upstream and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cooperation between Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Natural Oil and Gas Authority (Noga Holdings).
The final MoU signed was between the National Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
During a four-eyed meeting earlier, King Hamad and Najib held talks on various matters pertaining to bilateral ties including improvements and cooperation in various areas.
The King who is on a four-day state visit to Malaysia had arrived at Seri Perdana at 8.45pm, and was greeted upon arrival by the Prime Minister.
King Hamad later attended an official reception hosted by Najib at his official residence here.
The King who is on his maiden visit to Malaysia since he ascended the throne on May 6, 1999, is scheduled to depart for Brunei tomorrow.
