Kit Siang will sack DAP chairman to prevent him from succeeding Penang CM, alleges former DAP stalwart

BUTTERWORTH: State DAP chairman, Chow Kon Yeow, will not become the next Penang Chief Minister, a former DAP member has claimed today.

According to G Asoghan, a former DAP Bagan Luar branch member, Kon Yeow is tipped to replace current Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, should the latter be found guilty and jailed on two corruption charges pertaining to the purchase of a bungalow below market price.

Guan Eng himself had endorsed Kon Yeow as the “natural choice” to succeed him for the top post in the Penang government.

But Asoghan alleges that Kon Yeow will be kicked out of the party by DAP supremo, Lim Kit Siang, before he can take up the post.

"Kit Siang will remove anyone he dislikes, and I was one of the victims of his political cruelty. There were many more in the past.

"Kon Yeow was previously the candidate for the Parliamentary seat, but in the last general election, he was only given a state seat.

“If Kit Siang's son, Guan Eng, was allowed to contest in both State and Parliamentary seats, why not the state DAP chairman himself?

"Kon Yeow will be sacked from the party, along with other good leaders, such as Dr Tan Seng Giaw," Asoghan alleged in a press conference at Subaidah Restaurant, Jalan Chain Ferry here, today.

He also challenged Kit Siang to accept the debate invitation by former DAP vice-chairman, Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim.

Asoghan claimed the debate will reveal the 'true colours' of Kit Siang.
