The name of an MRT station in Singapore has mysteriously been changed in Google Maps.

At the time of publication, Toa Payoh MRT Station appears as “Russel Palmes” in the technology company’s online map service.

In the reviews section for “Russel Palmes” MRT Station in Google Maps, a post written by a Russel Palmes two weeks ago says, “Please can anybody tell me how can I find my lost wallet? And what to do? God bless.”

Yahoo News Singapore managed to contact a woman who said Russel Palmes was her maid. The woman, who did not want to be named, confirmed that Palmes had lost a wallet in the Toa Payoh area and had made a police report.

She added that she had not known about the change in the MRT station’s name in Google Maps.

It is not clear why the MRT station’s name was changed by Google Maps. Yahoo News Singapore has reached out to Google Singapore for comment.
