Just when you thought that nothing could be better than a holiday that honors delectable doughnuts, Krispy Kreme has stepped in to say, "We know this year has been tough, so let's have more doughnuts." Instead of giving away free doughnuts on National Doughnut Day (which is June 5, in case you need to know), Krispy Kreme has decided to give away free doughnuts from June 1 to June 5 in honor of what they deem to be National Doughnut Week. Yes, friends, a whole week dedicated to doughnuts.

“National Doughnut Day is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate, but with days starting to blur together, we want to make sure it’s easier than ever for fans to participate,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a press release. “That’s why, this year, we’re extending our beloved free doughnut tradition from one day to five days with the very first National Doughnut Week.”

So how exactly do you get in on the action of Krispy Kreme's National Doughnut Week? Easy. Just put on your mask, stop by your local shop any day during the week, and claim your free doughnut. As an added bonus, you get to pick whatever kind of doughnut you want, and won't be limited tot he classic glazed. (Though those are delicious and we wouldn't knock anyone who opted for it.) There is, however, a limit of one free doughnut per person per day, so don't try to disguise yourself with sunglasses, baseball caps, or wigs.

In preparation for the exciting week of doughnutty goodness, you have a little bit of time to start ruminating on the difficult decision of what flavor doughnut to choose. If it's any conciliation, we don't think it's possible to make a bad choice.

Happy National Doughnut Day Week!
