Kylie Jenner says Forbes controversy over her billionaire status is ‘literally the last thing’ she’s worried about
Kylie Jenner has said that being stripped of her “billionaire“ status by Forbes magazine is “literally the last thing” on her mind.
On Friday, the outlet published a report titled, “Kylie Jenner’s Web of Lies”, which references documents it obtained from Coty, the company which purchased 51 per cent of Jenner’s beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics in November 2019 for $600 million (£486m).
According to Forbes, which a year ago named Jenner the “world’s youngest self-made billionaire”, the documents reportedly show Jenner’s business is “significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe”.
The report states: “The business was never that big to begin with, and the Jenners have lied about it every year since 2016—including having their accountant draft tax returns with false numbers—to help juice Forbes’ estimates of Kylie’s earnings and net worth.”
Jenner has responded to the allegations on Twitter and accused Forbes of publishing “inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions”.
The 22-year-old denied lying about her billionaire status and questioned the publication’s claims she forged tax returns.
“'Even creating tax returns that were likely forged’ that’s your proof? So you just THOUGHT they were forged? Like actually what am I reading,” she tweeted.
Jenner added she is “okay” and grateful for her “beautiful daughter and successful business”.

One person responded to Jenner, “This is what you’re worried about right now?”, presumably in reference to the coronavirus outbreak or the death of George Floyd, a black man who was handcuffed and pleaded for air as an officer pressed his knee on his neck for several minutes during an arrest.
Jenner replied, “This is literally the LAST thing i’m worried about right now”, before adding in a subsequent tweet: “I can name a list of 100 things more important right now than fixating on how much money I have.”
On Friday, the reality TV star shared an Instagram post about Mr Floyd’s death.

“I’ll never personally experience the pain and fear that many black people around the country go through every day but I know nobody should have to live in fear and nobody deserves a death like George Floyd and too many others,” she wrote.
“I fear for my daughter and I hope for a better future for her,” she added.
