Labourer stumbles across four World War II bombs in Kemaman

KEMAMAN: An Indonesian labourer stumbled across four World War II bombs amidst chunks of scrap metal at the Felda Neram 1 oil palm plantation here.

Kemaman District Police chief Supt Mohd Said Ibrahim said the four bombs were discovered by the labourer as he was scattering fertilizer in the plantation at noon on Sunday.

He said he went back to the location at 10 am yesterday with a friend with the intention of selling what he thought was scrap metal, but changed his mind after it dawned on him that they were actually bombs, and quickly contacted the police.

"The bombs were destroyed at 3.05pm," Mohd Said said. -- BERNAMA
