Lady Gaga has been dazzling on an entire roll of red carpets lately, to promote her latest movie, House of Gucci. Of course, for the movie's premiere in LA, she wore haute couture Gucci, showcasing the purple silk chiffon design to stunning effect.

Fashion fans were surprised this week, however, when she arrived at the film's New York premiere wearing Armani Privé, the designer's exclusive label.

The event was held at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York on Tuesday, and the Oscar-winning singer and actor attended alongside co-stars Adam Driver and Jared Leto, and director Ridley Scott.

Ladg Gaga is well known for her fashion-forward and Art-based looks, and appears on the cover of December Vogue with petrol-blue hair, wearing a unique black and gold creation by one of her favourite fashion houses, Schiaparelli.

Editor Edward Enninful wrote, "while shooting the editorial with Steven Meisel – who she had long dreamt of being photographed by – Gaga brought an artist’s sensibility and much extravagant glamour to proceedings."

On this occasion, however, she went for a design house that's long been known for dressing A listers for the red carpet in classic Hollywood style. This look was a little more daring, with the structured black velvet column dress scooped under the bust, and polka-dot tulle just covering the actor's breasts.

Lady Gaga wore the look with a cropped blonde fringe, dramatic, sparkling makeup featuring gold eyeshadow and glossy red lips, and Tiffany jewellery. The dress's tight bodice showed off the actor's 'la vie en rose' back tattoo, a permanent reminder of the Edith Piaf song she sang during her Oscar-winning performance as Ali in A Star is Born.

Previously, Gaga has partnered with Armani, who designed the costumes for her 2010 tour. Though her look at the premiere was pure Hollywood glamour, she gave it a personal twist with her signature platform boots, choosing Pleaser’s Xtreme-1020 black faux leather platform ankle boots with a lace-up front.
