Lai Lok Yi wants to start a business as a side income

17 Nov– Despite enjoying his popularity as one of TVB's most sought after lead stars, Lai Lok Yi doesn't see himself working only as an actor until his old age.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who sat down for an interview recently, stated that he is looking for a like-minded partner to do business and seek other ways to make more money outside of showbiz.

"I am 40 next year. I don't think an acting career is long-lasting. When you come to a certain age, you will begin playing a father or an uncle. I want to have other choices and develop in other areas as well so I don't have to work so hard as an actor in the future," he said.

Lai stated that rather than continue being a working actor into his old age, he would like to follow fellow actors like Bobby Au Yeung and Roger Kwok, and only take acting jobs when he is interested in the project.

"Now that I have a family, I want to have balance in my work and my family life," he added.
