KUALA LUMPUR: After eight months of captivity, the last three Malaysian crew members kidnapped from the Serudong 3 tugboat in eastern Sabah waters by the Abu Sayaf are finally safe at home.

Fandy Bakran, 26, Mohammad Jumadil Rahim, 23 and Mohd Ridzuan Ismail, 32, arrived here from the Philippines yesterday.

They were reunited with their families at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's residence at Taman Duta this morning.

Their reunion follows a similar homecoming meeting for the first two Serudong 3 crew members to be released – Tayufin Anjut, 46 and Abdul Rahim Sumas, 63 – on Monday.

The trio, who arrived at 8.20am, looked healthier than the first two fellow crew members released.

They were rescued at 11.20pm on Sunday in Panglima Estino, Sulu province.

They were discovered 26km from where Tayufin and Abdul Rahim were picked up by the Philippines authorities three days earlier.
