Laurence Fox says he 'will end up in parliament' after launching political party
Laurence Fox has predicted he will end up in parliament after launching his new political party Reclaim.
The actor has been making headlines this year following a controversial appearance on Question Time in which he dismissed claims Meghan Markle had been mistreated in the press due to racism.
He also engaged in a heated dispute with an audience member who labelled him a “privileged white male”.
Since the programme, Fox has emerged as a right-leaning commentator combating all things “woke” on social media and TV, and he has made no secret recently of his political ambitions.

Last month he launched the Reclaim Party, which claims to fight for freedom of speech, aiming to “reclaim British values” and challenge a “culture war” taking place in the UK.
Speaking to the Mail On Sunday, he said: “This very small 'progressive' group of people are trying to make us all think in a certain way and impose certain ways of behaviour on everyone else. They're a cult – and they have no forgiveness.”

Fox appears to want to combat such people by reclaiming “British values”, which the actor says include “good manners, respect, chivalry” and “society being humble and honest”.
He added: “The parts that matter: your church warden, your carers, the people who actually keep society going. Not half-baked actors and media moguls.”
Asked about his political ambitions, he said: “I will end up in Parliament.”

The Mail On Sunday article also states Fox “does not deny that he dreams of becoming Prime Minister”.
A quote from Fox on the Reclaim Party’s website reads: “Over many years it has become clear that our politicians have lost touch with the people they represent and govern. Moreover, our public institutions now work to an agenda beyond their main purpose.
“Our modern United Kingdom was born out of the respectful inclusion of so many individual voices. It is steeped in the innate values of families and communities, diverse in the truest sense but united in the want and need to call this island home.”
