10 Oct – Although the civil unrest in Hong Kong has caused some celebrities' to cancel their event appearances, veteran actress Law Lan recently stated that she is not affected much by the situation.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media following a brand event in Lan Kwai Fong recently, stated that despite a protest going on nearby, everything went well for her and the organiser.
"The organiser arranged for a vehicle to pick me up and send me home. The traffic was smooth, and there was nothing to worry," she said.
Asked if the social unrest affected her work, Law stated that she has no issue with the situation since she doesn't have much work in recent months.
"Sometimes you don't have to go out if it isn't necessary. Although I rarely read the news, [the protests] seemed to have not much impact on my life. I rarely go out for tea and prefer to stay home instead," she said.
The same could not be said about TVB actress Sammi Cheung, who admitted that she couldn't make it to an event recently due to security issues.
