Layla Sleep's New Flippable Hybrid Mattress Has a Firm Side and a Soft Side
Bed-in-a-box brands are all the rage right now, but the truth is, ordering a mattress online can be tricky. Sure, you can read reviews to narrow down your options, but what if you don't know how firm or how soft you want your mattress to be? Layla Sleep is here to solve that problem for you, with a brand new flippable mattress that allows you to choose which side you want to sleep on: firm, or soft.
The mattress, which launched today, is a foam and coil hybrid, made with copper-gel memory foam and the brand's Infinity Edge individually wrapped coils system. The copper is infused to help hot sleepers keep cool as they snooze, since it transfers heat away from your body faster.
The key to a flippable mattress is layers, and the Layla Hybrid has five. Starting on the soft side, there's a 2.5-inch copper-gel memory foam layer, followed by what Layla Sleep calls a "max airflow support foam" layer that's 2 inches thick. On the firm side, the copper-infused memory foam layer is just one inch thick, and the max airflow support foam layer is 1.5 inches deep. In the middle, there's a 6-inch layer of pocketed coils. The whole thing is topped with a soft, breathable cover that zips on and off for easy cleaning. It also has handles so you don't have to struggle to flip it when you want to.
In a press release, Layla Sleep's co-founder Akrum Sheikh explained that the brand wanted its newest mattress to work for a wide range of customers and all the different ways they sleep. "Body, and, maybe more importantly, mind need to be recharged every single night, and the Hybrid Mattress has so many different ways to do this, from flippable capabilities to the copper-infused memory foam and our seven-layers of painstakingly curated design," he explained. "We want this mattress to fit as many types of sleepers as possible, so they become their best awake self in their daily lives."
The Layla Hybrid is now available to shop on laylasleep.com.
