Fast & Furious fans still disappointed by the delay of Fast 9 to 2021 will take some solace from the news that toymaker LEGO has revealed its first ever set based on the Fast movie franchise.

The 1:13 scale LEGO Technic 1970 Dodge Charger is inspired by the favoured ride of Vin Diesel’s street racing character Dom Toretto, and is made up of 1,077 pieces.

The set is available to pre-order from 30 March from LEGO.com and to buy globally from 27 April, 2020.

As with other vehicles in the Technic range, Dom’s Dodge Charger is meticulously detailed and you can even lift the bonnet to reveal the muscle car’s iconic V8 engine.

As the press release explains: “Fans can feel like they’re in the garage with Dom fixing up his latest project as they build moving pistons, double wishbone suspension, a wheelie bar to show off the car’s best moves and (of course) put the nitro bottles in the trunk. If things get too hot, there’s a fire extinguisher in the cockpit too.”
