Opponents of offshore wind energy projects expect President-elect Donald Trump to kill an industry he has vowed to end on the first day he returns to the White House. Many of the largest offshore wind companies put a brave face on the election results, pledging to work with Trump and Congress to build power projects and ignoring the incoming president's oft-stated hostility to them. In campaign appearances, Trump railed against offshore wind and promised to sign an executive order to block such projects.

Tiny baby sea turtles were released on a beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Thursday, November 7.Bradley Atchison captured this footage on Olas Altas Beach on Mexico’s west coast. He told Storyful marine biologists released the turtles into the Pacific Ocean, “allowing them to live out their lives.”According to local news reports, releasing the turtles occurs in Puerto Vallarta from around July to December, with about 3,000 babies hatched each year.In a news release, the Government of Mexico said female turtles come ashore and lay about 100 eggs each. After the babies hatch, conservationists and biologists assist the turtles on their walk to the sea by protecting them from predators and assuring they make it safely to the water.“This activity consists of facilitating the path to the sea for the turtles, since it is common that very few of the many that are born survive due to predators,” the release said, adding that seven species of sea turtles lay their eggs on Mexican coasts, including in Puerto Vallarta.“The species of sea turtles that you will find most are the olive ridley, the leatherback, and the hawksbill,” according to the statement.
