Less wet weather expected in Singapore in the second half of January: NEA
The second half of January 2018 is expected to be less wet than the first two weeks of the year, Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) reported on Wednesday (17 January).
However, NEA said the prevailing Northeast Monsoon will continue into the next two weeks, and residents can expect “five to seven days” of short-duration thundery showers on some afternoons and some evenings.
Temperatures for the second half of January are forecast to range between 24°C and 32°C. However, rainy days will be cooler with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C.
Tropical Singapore enjoyed unusually low temperatures over the weekend, with a low of 21.2°C recorded on Sunday (14 January) in Admiralty and Jurong West. Significantly more rain than usual fell in the first two weeks of the year, at one point leading to flash floods in eastern Singapore. But on Tuesday (16 January), temperatures started going back up.
