Let’s Get Ready to (Royal) Rumble With 34 Years of WWE Royal Rumble Winners (Photos)
The 2021 WWE “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view is in the books, and this year’s winners Edge and Bianca Belair are in the pro-wrestling history books.
Belair’s victory, while impressive, comes as no real surprise. She was the favorite to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, according to online sports book Bovada. The betting website had Edge facing the fifth-best odds in the men’s match, which served as the evening’s main event.
Edge ran the table from the No. 1 (of 30) spot. Belair entered her match in the third position.

The Women’s Royal Rumble Match just began in 2018. Belair joins former winners Asuka, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Sunday was Edge’s second Royal Rumble Match win. He is now the eighth person to win more than one Royal Rumble Match. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin remains the only person to win three Royal Rumbles.

The 2021 Royal Rumble will be the last major PPV in the streaming service’s existing. On Monday, WWE and NBCUniversal announced that WWE Network and its programming is being folded into Peacock in March with a price point starting at $4.99. Subscribers can go ad-free for $9.99.
“We are thrilled to further the long-standing and trusted partnership WWE has with NBCUniversal,” Nick Khan, WWE president and chief revenue officer, said at the time. “Peacock is an innovative platform that will enable us to showcase our most significant events, including WrestleMania, and provide the extraordinary entertainment our fans have come to expect with the combination of premium WWE content, live sports, news, films, and television programs.”
In the third quarter of 2020, WWE Network averaged 1.6 million monthly paid subscribers. Last month, NBCU CEO Jeff Shell said Peacock had passed 26 million sign-ups. Those are not all paid, however. Comcast has projected Peacock will have up to 35 million subscribers by the end of 2024.
