The past few months in lockdown have made beauty buffs out of all of us.

Whether you've stripped it back and are now a masking maven or are more of an everyday full-face fan, beauty and wellbeing have been elevated to paramount importance as we navigate this strange time.

So while our practice of wine-guzzling with friends is still on pause for now, and we remain ensconced in our WFH office (also known as the kitchen table), it pays to familiarise yourself with all the new indulgences that are dropping in the beauty-sphere.

From a deliciously hydrating SPF to the best fake-tan I've ever tried (and I've been around the block), this is the best in beauty this week.

Sun Bum SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion

Sun Bum SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion, £15.99, buy now

The gloopy ivory sunscreens of your childhood are a thing of the past with this Sun Bum lotion. In stark contrast to the formulas of yore which would perch on the surface of the skin and belligerently refuse to blend in, Sun Bum's hydrating formula provides nourishment to parched skin as well as that all-important sun protection. Oh and did we mention it's vegan too?

Amanda Harrington Face Illuminating Mist

Amanda Harrington Face Illuminating Bronzing Mist, £28, buy now

Now that we have experienced the first bout of rain we've seen in a long time, there's a serious matter at hand: just how to preserve our glows once the grey skies take hold? Amanda Harrington made her name in the London tanning scene with her bespoke spray tans, which she sculpts onto the body with her own buffing brushes.

It's her eponymous line's illuminating facial mist that's the real DIY star of the show; apply with her specially-designed facial tanning brush (£35, buy now) and watch your face adopt a Costa del sol-approved glow.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Hair Set

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Hair Set, £40, buy now

If your hair's feeling about as perky as your social life, then this nutrient-rich hair kit is the remedy your lacklustre locks need. I went into the shower with parched locks and woke up the next day with a soft and revived head of hair. And for those of you who, like me, enjoy a scented shampoo and conditioner that's good enough to eat, this one really is for you.

Fresh Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm

Fresh Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm, £15, buy now

If you're still navigating the descent from the high that Harry Styles' steamy video for Watermelon Sugar ascended you to, how about a watermelon-scented lip balm to fill the void? Fresh's line of hydrating sugar scrub balms also includes a limited-edition Blood Orange flavour and Lime Mint (mojito for the lips, anyone?)

Pucker up, love!

Kiehl's Ultimate Razor Burn & Bump Relief

If you've resigned yourself to shaving in order to tame your body hair while your wax salon is unreachable, then this Kiehl's balm is for you. Applying post-shave, you'll find that your ingrown hairs are diminished as are any stray bumps on the surface of your skin.

London-based vegan skincare brand Pai has long been a go-to of mine; its Rosehip Oil (£24, buy now) is an OG skincare saviour. For when we are free to start ticking off our travel bucket list again, its newly-launched Hydration Hit kit offers all of its skin-loving goodies in travel-ready sizes. They're positively screaming for a test run.
