Let's build a sandcastle — stunning pictures of abandoned diamond mine flooded by sand

These stunning photographs show an abandoned diamond mine being taken over by an abundance of sand. Several rooms and even a bathtub are being flooded by sand — making the history completely unrecognizable.

This collection of pictures was taken by David Swindler at a facility along the B4 corridor between Luderitz and Aus in Namibia. Regarding the background of the mine’s developers, David, 38, reported that some German immigrants first started coming to this area in the late 1800s and worked on constructing a rail line into the interior of the country.
