It started with a goal in the seventh minute by Faris Ramli.

Kelantan went on the aggressive, dominating the ball for most of the first half.

Kelantan's Wan Zack Haikal made it 1-1 after about an hour.

Then substitute Sahil Suhaimi struck in the 81st minute, and converted a penalty during stoppage time to give the LionsXII a 3-1 victory over Kelantan at the packed Bukit Jalil Stadium on Saturday night.

The LionsXII are the first foreign team to win the Malaysia FA Cup and were playing in their first cup final.

Goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud was named Man of the Match for denying several of Kelantan's attacks.

Sahil's late penalty caused the LionsXII bench and coach Fandi Ahmad to leap to their feet in celebration.

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also tweeted his congratulations shortly after the match ended.
