From Cosmopolitan

People of the internet, rejoice: Love Is Blind is officially getting a season 2 (and 3!!). All of social media erupted when this show first dropped, so it's pretty phenomenal news that more episodes are coming our way. The thing about Love Is Blind, though, is that it's even less realistic than most reality TV shows. Sure, it's fun to watch, but it's also really hard to watch.

Here are 8 things the show should do with season 2 and 3 to make it a little easier to stomach (and believe). Netflix, if you're reading this, you're welcome for the free ideas!

A longer timeline

This show definitely asks you to suspend reality, but it would better serve the audience and the contestants if the whole thing didn't happen in one month. Obviously, watching this craziness go down is half the fun, but if the contestants had more time with each other, maybe more of the relationships would have actually lasted.

LGBTQ couples

Love Is Blind season 1 did feature one contestant, Carlton, who wasn't straight. That's obviously not very reflective of the world we live in. If this show wants to have more impact in S2, it'll need to feature couples of all sexual orientations.

People who look more like average, everyday people

It's just hard to watch a show where the central question is "Is Love Blind?" when all the people are objectively hot. How blind is it, really!? This would admittedly be tricky, because you wouldn't want someone's appearance to become the butt of the proverbial joke, but it's hard to believe love is blind when the contestants are all slim, able-bodied, and attractive.

More ex girlfriend/boyfriend drama

A lot of the contestants referenced people they'd dated in the past, but we didn't actually see anyone's ex. You're trying to tell me not one person found out their ex was getting married after finding love in a pod and made it a point to try to go stop that person? I don't buy it! I want more ex drama in season 2 and 3.

Extra family time

Like any good reality show, Love Is Blind should lean into the family dynamics of each contestant. I want more side-eye from grandma, more disapproving looks from people's siblings. It's what we deserve!

Contestants who have kids

Some people who are looking for love also happen to be parents, and bringing that into the show would add a whole other level to it.

Separate bachelor/bachelorette parties

By giving all the brides and grooms separate parties with their friends, the drama might be able to come to the surface even more. You've gotta believe one girl is going to drunkenly say to her friend, "You're not really going through with this, are you?" I'd like to see it.

Weddings that aren't all the same

A few of these couples actually did get married via this show, so in hindsight, it would have been nice if their weddings weren't exactly the same as five other couples'. Just a thought!
