Singapore Sports School students create and share deepfake nudes, police investigating
The principal, Ong Kim Soon, confirmed to CNA on Tuesday (12 Nov) that the school is aware of the incident. "The school does not condone such harmful behaviour," said Ong, who added that the school is investigating the incident and a police report was launched.
CNA confirmed with the police that a report was lodged and investigations have been launched into the nude photos.
It was reported that all students involved are being interviewed by the police, and their mobile phones and other devices have been confiscated for forensic examination.
Disciplinary actions have also started, including caning for some students and sports trip bans, suspension from school, training and boarding.
A father of a victim told CNA that the case dates back to June, when a group of boys created and circulated deepfake nude images of their female schoolmates.
"Apparently some of the boys received (caning) in private yesterday. But it’s not enough," he said.

China has banned exports of key materials used to make a wide range of products, including smartphones, electric vehicles, radar systems and CT scanners, swiping back at Washington after it expanded export controls to include dozens of Chinese companies that make equipment used to produce advanced computer chips.
