Food delivery platform Delivery Hero (Singapore) – known by its lead brand Foodpanda – has been issued a warning over its misleading advertisement over its Pandapro subscription service.

The warning came from the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CASE).

The Pandapro advertisement ran from 1 July to 30 Sept and promoted "unlimited free delivery on all restaurants" for the subscription service.

Following a complaint on the ad, the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) launched an investigation.

They concluded that without any qualifiers, consumers could be misled into thinking Pandapro subscribers would enjoy free delivery on all the restaurants available on Foodpanda. In reality, subscribers would receive only a $3 discount for all restaurants or a discount of up to $6 for selected restaurants.

Contrary to the advertised "free delivery on all restaurants", CCCS found that over 40 per cent of food delivery transactions made by Pandapro subscribers on all restaurants during the promotional period required a residual delivery fee to be paid after the discounts were applied.

A total of 40,894 Primary 6 students sat for the PSLE this year, and 98.5% of them can progress to secondary school.

The findings were released by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in a press release on Wednesday (20 Nov).

The PSLE results were released from 11am on the same day.

Under full subject-based banding, students who are eligible for Posting Groups 1 and 2 may offer English Language, mother tongue languages, mathematics, and science at a more demanding level from Secondary 1 (S1) based on their Achievement Level (AL) scores for the respective subject.

With the new AL system – which replaces the PSLE T-score, students will be scored for each PSLE subject from AL 1 to 8, with 1 being the best score and 8, the lowest. The student's PSLE score will be the sum of the subject scores.

From 2024 onwards, the Express, N(A) and N(T) streams will be removed as well. Secondary school students can take subjects at three subject levels, known as G1, G2, G3, mapped from the previous N(T), N(A) and Express standards respectively.

Students who scored AL 5 or better for a PSLE Standard subject can take the subject at G3 or G2. Students who scored at least AL 6 for a PSLE Standard subject or AL A for a PSLE Foundation subject can take the subject at G2.

For the 2024 Primary 6 cohort, about 65% of students eligible for Posting Groups 1 and 2 can take at least one subject at a more demanding level.

This is comparable to the previous year's cohort, said MOE.

Sport Singapore (SportSG) and former national table tennis player Feng Tianwei have refuted allegations about "the possible fraudulent use of public monies".

Feng, is an assistant director at SportSG and the principal of its ActiveSG Table Tennis Academy.

According to CNA, SportSG on Tuesday (18 Nov) said it was aware of "recent allegations" against Feng. These allegations stemmed from an arrangement Feng had with her former personal fitness coach.

A SportSG spokesperson said, "As one of the allegations involved the possible fraudulent use of public monies, SportSG’s checks on our records indicate no evidence to support claims of misappropriation of public funds."

They shared that a similar allegation was raised by the same person in 2021 and was determined to be without merit.

CNA received a copy of these allegations earlier this month from a sender who claimed to be Feng's former "personal physical coach" Zhou Xiang.

Zhou alleged that Feng asked him to teach her how to swim and it was an example of "suspected ... misappropriation of public funds for personal use".

Feng told CNA that she worked with Zhou from April to October 2018. During that time, she personally paid for his coaching fees, living expenses and travel costs.

He was a graduate student at the Shanghai University of Sport then, and part of his responsibilities involved assisting her with physical training. The coaching was also an internship for Zhou, which contributed to his academic thesis.

Zhou resigned in October 2018 to focus on his thesis.

Feng said there was no conflict between them during the arrangement and believed there could be potential for them to work together again in the future.

However, since 2018, Zhou has been harassing Feng, her family and friends, causing "significant mental stress".

She added, "In 2021, Zhou Xiang even made false accusations against me to Sport Singapore. Following an investigation, Sport Singapore found the claims unsubstantiated, and issued a formal response to him."

Feng shared that she has engaged legal counsel to gather evidence of Zhou's "defamatory statements and acts of privacy violations", and is "prepared to pursue legal actions to protect my rights and interests".
