Liverpool confirm Markovic's Fenerbahce loan

Serbian midfielder Lazar Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica for a reported fee of £20 million last year, but made only 11 Premier League starts last season and is yet to feature in the current campaign

Liverpool confirmed on Sunday that Serbia winger Lazar Markovic has joined Turkish club Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal. Markovic, 21, joined Liverpool from Benfica for a reported fee of £20 million ($30.8 million, 27.5 million euros) last year, but made only 11 Premier League starts last season and is yet to feature in the current campaign. "Lazar Markovic has completed a season-long loan switch to @Fenerbahce, #LFC can confirm," Liverpool announced on Twitter. Speaking before the deal was confirmed, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said that Markovic still had a future at Anfield. The deal does not include an option to buy.
