Liverpool readying shock Salah sale for eye-watering sum after winger turns his back on Klopp; likeliest suitor confirmed
A remarkable report has claimed Mohamed Salah wants to follow Roberto Firmino out of Anfield and Liverpool are on board with selling for a sizeable sum to one club in particular.
Liverpool’s famous front three of Sadio Mane, Firmino and Salah was disrupted last summer upon Mane moving to Bayern Munich. Firmino will depart as a free agent at season’s end, leaving just Salah as the sole survivor.
The Reds look poised to embark on something of a rebuild and at present, are far from guaranteed to be in next season’s Champions League.
However, according to a spectacular report out of Spain, Salah wants no part of Jurgen Klopp’s revamp.
The outlet is cited by the BBC and state Salah, 30, ‘aims to be one of the outstanding outings of the summer along with Firmino’s’.
Salah’s exit could reportedly be ‘added’ to Firmino’s despite the acknowledgement he remains an integral part of their front line.
Indeed, Salah’s current tally stands at 22 goals and 11 assists in 38 games across all competitions this season. Unsurprisingly, Salah is Liverpool’s top scorer yet again – as he has been every season he’s been at the club.
However, it’s remarkably claimed Liverpool ‘would not look badly’ on the idea of selling Salah while his value remains sky high. The Egyptian’s current contract will expire in 2025 and now into his 30s, his value will only go one way from here on out.
The outlet cite French giant PSG as Salah’s likeliest suitor, with the Parisians intent on ridding themselves of Neymar this summer. The Brazilian’s exit would then pave the way for Salah to fill the void.
An €80m (approx. £70.5m) transfer fee is cited as being required before Liverpool will give the greenlight. That would represent a truly eye-catching sum for a player who’ll turn 31 in June.

Will Salah really leave Liverpool in 2023?
It’s important to note the Spanish outlet in question haven’t proven themselves the most reliable of sources for transfer news in the past.
What’s more, they ran a very similar story in late-February which prompted Salah’s agent to strongly deny the rumours soon after.
The crux of the initial report centred around Salah wanting out if Liverpool didn’t qualify for the Champions League.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, then tweeted: “Nonsense. This was never discussed or thought about. Not qualifying to the Champions League hasn’t even crossed our minds.”
In all likelihood, the new report will prompt a similar response from Salah’s camp.
