Liverpool have opted for a rotation policy ahead of facing Porto in the Champions League tonight.

While Jurgen Klopp was keen to stress the importance of respecting both the competition and the opposition, the notoriously arduous winter Premier League schedule is about to begin earnest and his side have already qualified for the next round of the competition.

“Whatever lineup we show tomorrow night it’s all about winning this game and the next games, that’s what we are here for”, said Klopp at his pre-match press conference.

Ahead of the game, Klopp revealed that both Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson could sit out. While not necessarily injured, the pair have been rested after slight knocks over the last few weeks in order to keep them fresh for Premier League duty.

Kostas Tsimikas comes into the side and there is space for young midfielder Tyler Morton, who made his Premier League debut in Sunday’s win over Arsenal.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Williams, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas; Morton, Thiago, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Salah, Minamino.

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Milner, Henderson, Jota, Robertson, Origi, Phillips, Alexander-Arnold.

Porto XI: Diogo Costa; Joao Mario, Pepe, Mbemba, Zaidu; Uribe, Sergio Oliveira, Otavio, Luis Diaz; Taremi, Evanilson.
