Toyota unveiled the upcoming, reborn Supra in Geneva – in Gazoo Racing form at least. The swoopy, aggressively styled coupe wore Gazoo livery on the Toyota stand, and now Toyota released this short, 90-second video, which sure looks a lot like in-game capture of Gran Turismo.
That's not just a coincidence, as Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital announced a couple days ago that the car will be a part of Gran Turismo Sport's April update.
As per Polyphony Digital's statement: "The 'GR Supra Racing Concept' is a concept model based on the Toyota Supra sports car produced up to 2002, brought back after 16 years as a race car. It was developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing, the division of Toyota that handles their motorsports activities and the 'GR' sports car series. This traditional long nose – short deck form machine, is a front engine, rear wheel drive 2 door coupe. The compact body utilizes light weight high strength carbon composite materials implemented in front line racing. The large blister fenders and rear wing, as well as the rear diffuser, were developed to provide superior aerodynamic and driving performance."
The game update will include 12 new cars and two new track configurations. Perhaps this tweet by Gran Turismo's official account hinted of the new Supra's inclusion.
