The year 1854 plays a significant role in the house’s history – it is a symbol to pay tribute to a family driven by the sublimity of craftmanship.

Before designers Virgil Abloh, Artistic Director of Menswear’s Collection and Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, it was Louis Vuitton’s son Georges Vuitton who put the label on the map with his Monogram canvas logo design – the interlocking L and V in a floral design was created in homage to his father, and to brand the luggage business.

It was also the year 1854 when his father founded his luggage business in Paris at 4 Rue Neuve des Capucines.

Fast forward to today, Ghesquière has designed this Jacquard featuring 1854, the year of Louis Vuitton’s creation.

Inspired in part by the decor of their original home in Asnières, the eight frame has now become a petal, forming part of the canvas’ heritage.

Fans would be able to spot this timeless Monogram across iconic models such as the Dauphine, Neverfull and Petit Noé, as well as on wardrobe and accessories to celebrate the ‘Since 1854’ collection.
